July - August 2023, UWE students and staff travelled to the Kwazulu-Natal province in South Africa as part of the Project Zulu partnership which was founded by UWE. Teaching, business, engineering, IT and rugby students/staff partnered with different schools where UWE volunteers were able to share some of their own knowledge and utilise their skills built in the UK whilst also collaborating with the local schools’ teachers and pupils and learning from their techniques and learning processes as well. Volunteers stayed in host families enabling them to have an enriched cultural experience of living in a South African town.

I travelled alongside a film team also from UWE where we documented the collaboration between the schools and UWE volunteers, day to day school operations and the new classrooms built from the bi-yearly Project Zulu Choir tours fundraising.
